WebI use an iPhone X, and I face the same issue as well. What I’ve found out is that Instagram Story requires a 9:16 picture. As a work around for IG cropping the picture I usually just crop it down to the size using the native photos app or use an 3rd party app like PS Express to create a 9:16 or 1080x1920 canvas and fit the image inside that.
