But if your cable is out of adjustment pulling the lever may not be disengaging the clutch. You should find the adjustment at the clutch lever, should be a larger locknut and a smaller adjusting screw.

WebNov 16, 2024 · It only takes 2.5-3mm of pushrod movement into the clutch-release plate to fully disengage the clutch disc from fully clamped to fully disengaged (where disc is easy to move with fingers). With 3 mm of release plate compression, the pressure plate retracts only about 1.25 mm - roughly the thickness of a dime!!

If the pump doesn't harden up, then you have a cylinder problem. The slave is usually the first culprit, since it is the one that activates the clutch.
