In the mid- seventies, on a beach, Budji was fascinated by the skill of two men building a traditional bamboo outrigger canoe. WebMar 19, 2024 · Early Life. Budji, as he is popularly known, was born in 1950 to Herminia Layug. He is the 3rd among eight children. His mother worked for Cancio furniture shop and then eventually open the Philippine School of Interior Design. Furthermore, two of his sisters are also artists.
